History of PFLEIDERER company
PFLEIDERER was founded in 1894 by Gustav Pfleiderer in Heilbronn, Germany. Initially, the company specialized in the sawmill industry. After the death of Gustav, the business passed to his sons Adolf and Paul Otto. After the end of the First World War, the owners of the company decided to expand their activities. They also engaged in the production of wood products: in 1919, the brothers bought a sawmill in Neumarkt for this purpose. They later added a paper mill in Taisnach and a sawmill in Bad Grospertholz to their acquisitions. Around the same time, Georg, a brother of the Fryer family, took over the management of the company. Thanks to him, a new plant was built in Neumarkt, Germany. After the end of the Second World War, PFLEIDERER expanded its product range to include materials used in the railway industry, such as concrete posts and sleepers, and by the end of the 1950s it had become the German leader in the production of high-quality wooden products quality, safety and availability. In the early 1980s, the company began to invest in new projects for the production of high-quality building materials; In 2003, the second stage of expansion of the PFLEIDERER company began. However, a few years later, the company became a victim of the crisis in the US real estate market, where it actively invested loan funds. This led to bankruptcy in 2012. However, within a year, PFLEIDERER managed to get out of bankruptcy by selling many of its assets.
PFLEIDERER products
The PFLEIDERER company's products include chipboard - a sheet material made of wood shavings mixed with various resins and subjected to heat pressing. Its advantages are that it does not have voids, cracks and knots that can appear in solid wood. In addition, it is easy to process, dense, homogeneous and environmentally friendly. PFLEIDERER chipboard belongs to safety classes E-0 and E-1. Laminated chipboard is a type of chipboard on the surface of which a special film coating is applied. Melamine films are produced in various versions and provide increased resistance to changes in temperature, moisture and chemicals. The chipboard surface can be smooth, embossed or embossed, imitating the structure of various natural materials (stone, wood). HDF is a board of medium density with a homogeneous composition. Therefore, it can be produced in different formats. HDF boards are produced by dry pressing of fine wood shavings bound with a natural substance - lignin. Laminate is a common finishing material designed for laying on the floor. Laminate is a panel based on fiberboard or chipboard with additional reinforcement and decorative coatings. This product combines such advantages as strength, durability, attractive appearance and functionality, and has gained popularity in the construction market. The product range of the PFLEIDERER company also includes HPL plastics and HPL compact boards. HPL (High Pressuire Laminate) - or high-pressure laminate, which is obtained by thermal and forceful impact on layers of kraft paper, chipboard, MDF, on which thermo-reactive resin is applied. The thickness of the finished material ranges from 0.6 to 25 mm and depends on the number of layers processed. The impact of a powerful power press in combination with high temperatures starts diffusion processes, during which thermosetting resins penetrate into the layers of the base. This makes it possible to obtain at the output high-pressure plastic with unique properties. This material belongs to the class of structural and finishing materials. It is most widely used in the furniture industry, but it is also often used during construction and renovation.
